I’m looking to learn salsa, basic level. My question is if I look Cuban salsa on1 or I start directly with salsa on2 online .

  • Salsa dude says:

Learn what they dance locally. Why learn on 2 when no ones doing it ? On 2 is arguably the original rhythm of Salsa…. Easy to understand when you look at how the clave is used…Clave rhythm is asymmetrical it hits on 2,3, 5 6.5 and 8 on 2 is thought to be mostly in NY everywhere else is on 1….(generally)…Get one or the other down cold..then the other will be easy ….

    • Roberto Ramirez says:

I agree with Salsa Dude. Start with what everybody dances locally, and then move on to the other style. However, I do recommend to learn both, because that will make you a more versatile dancer.
